Our Firm
Legal practice
shaped by patience
and principle.
thornwickess is a boutique law practice in Singapore. We do not rush to conclusions, and we do not press clients towards unnecessary action.
Who We Are
Built around deliberate counsel
thornwickess was founded in Singapore with one guiding idea: that people navigating difficult legal situations deserve clarity first, and advice second. Too often, legal practice rushes clients toward action before they fully understand their circumstances. We take a different view.
The name thornwickess draws from the tradition of the terrace — a structure built with care, layer by layer, to endure. That metaphor shapes how we approach each matter: with attention to what lies beneath the surface, and respect for the time it takes to understand it.
Our team has worked across strata property law, criminal proceedings, and family law in Singapore for over twelve years. We are not a large firm, and we do not aim to be. What we offer is accessible, considered, and measured guidance from people who have navigated these waters many times.
Our Mission

About Our Practice
Strata law, criminal matters, and adoption in Singapore
thornwickess operates from 138 Market Street in Singapore's central business district, advising clients across three practice areas that share a common thread: each involves a person or organisation navigating a process that is unfamiliar, and often stressful.
In strata property law, we work with management corporations, subsidiary proprietors, and property developers facing questions under the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act. These matters often involve competing interests among multiple parties, and our role is to provide objective, structured advice that helps those parties move forward.
In criminal matters, we provide initial consultation and advisory to individuals who need to understand what a charge means, what options exist, and what the process looks like from here. That early clarity is often the most valuable thing a solicitor can offer.
In adoption law, we support families through one of the most significant legal processes they will ever undertake. The paperwork, the timelines, the court procedures — each step is something we have handled before, and we are here to make it less burdensome.
